Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down following standard protocol and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
