Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world offered condolences for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
