Barcelona Set to Play Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
