Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered disruption to drinking water, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes succeed periods of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
