New England tied their best victory streak from the Brady era as they overcame AFC East rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad secured an eight-game winning streak for the first time since legendary quarterback Brady's final season with the franchise in 2019

Quarterback Maye threw for 281 yards and a score, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The triumph increases the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York at the foot after falling to two wins and eight losses

The opposing team had scored first at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields scoring a five-yard TD to finish the New York's initial series

But the home team responded in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third period to make it 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He desires to be outstanding."

Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the win
